You Should Never Have to Say Goodbye Alone

If you've found your way here, chances are you're facing one of the most heartbreaking decisions a pet parent will ever make. First, I want you to know this: you are not alone.

For many of us, our pets are not "just animals." They are our family, our best friends, our daily companions, our greatest source of comfort, and sometimes the one constant through life's biggest challenges. They greet us without judgment, love us unconditionally, and become woven into every part of our lives.

I know this because I lived it!!

When I had to make the decision to help my soul dog, Bruno, peacefully cross the Rainbow Bridge after ten beautiful years together, I faced that moment completely alone. There were no family members beside me, no close friends to lean on, and no support group to help me carry the overwhelming weight of saying goodbye. I had to navigate one of the most painful experiences of my life without someone to guide me through the emotions, the practical decisions, or the heartbreaking moments that followed.

That experience changed me forever.

As difficult as it was, it also showed me something that I wish no one else had to experience: the profound need for compassionate support during a beloved pet's final journey.

Many people around us care deeply, but they may not fully understand the bond we share with our animal companions. Some may unintentionally minimize our grief with phrases like, "You can always get another dog," or "It’s just a pet." Those words can leave us feeling isolated at a time when we need understanding the most.

The truth is, our grief is real because our love is real!!

For many people, a pet is their child, their emotional support, their closest companion, or the one who has stood beside them through divorce, illness, loss, loneliness, military service, or life's greatest joys and hardships. That relationship deserves to be honored with the same dignity, compassion, and respect that we would offer any beloved family member.

That is why I became a Pet Companion End-of-Life Doula.

My mission is to ensure that no person or family has to walk this path without support if they don't want to. I provide compassionate guidance before, during, and after your pet's passing, helping create a peaceful, loving experience while caring not only for your beloved companion but also for you.

Whether you need someone to sit quietly beside you, to hold your hand, to help coordinate in-home euthanasia, provide transportation, create meaningful keepsakes, or simply be a calm, compassionate presence during one of life's hardest moments, I am here to support you every step of the way.

My role is not to replace your veterinarian, but to support and walk beside you, helping you make informed decisions, creating a peaceful environment, honoring your pet's life, and supporting you and your family through one of life's most difficult moments.

Whether your pet is approaching the end of life, you are considering euthanasia, or you have recently experienced a loss, I am here to help you every step of the way.

My approach combines professional end-of-life doula training with something equally important: personal understanding. I know what it feels like to love deeply, to grieve profoundly, and to wish someone had been there to help me when I most needed.

Every family deserves compassionate support.

Every beloved companion deserves a peaceful goodbye.

And no one should have to face that journey alone.

Why pet owners Choose Crossing Together:

I combine professional animal end-of-life support and education with both professional training and lived experiences.

My professional training includes:

Animal End-of-Life Doula Education training and certification by:

  • International End-of-Life Care Association (IEOLCA)

  • University of Vermont

  • University of New England

But perhaps my greatest qualification is my own journey and compassionate personality, with a deep understanding of humans and animal connections.

After saying goodbye to my soul dog of 10 years, Bruno, I realized how isolating pet loss can be when you don't have family, friends, or a support system to lean on. That experience inspired me to dedicate my life to ensuring that no one else has to walk this path alone.

Together, we can create a peaceful, loving farewell that honors the extraordinary bond you share with your beloved companion.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Pet Companion End-of-Life Doula?

A Pet Companion End-of-Life Doula provides emotional, educational, and practical support to individuals and families before, during, and after the death of a beloved animal companion. While veterinarians focus on medical care, my focus is on caring for both your pet and your family throughout the entire journey.

Do you perform euthanasia?

No. Only a licensed veterinarian can perform euthanasia. My role is to provide comfort, guidance, advocacy, and emotional support before, during, and after the procedure.

Can you come to my home?

Yes. I travel throughout the Dallas–Fort Worth area to support families in the comfort of their own homes whenever possible.

Do you work with my veterinarian?

Absolutely. I am happy to coordinate with your veterinarian or help connect you with trusted providers offering in-home euthanasia, cremation, or burial services.

What if I don't know if it's time?

Many families struggle with this decision. I can help you talk through your concerns, discuss your pet's quality of life, and prepare questions for your veterinarian so you feel informed and supported.

What happens after my pet passes?

I can assist you with transportation, cremation or burial arrangements, ashes retrieval, memorial keepsakes, and grief emotional support on your own terms so that you can focus on honoring your companion rather than managing logistics, while having someone to support you in this painful and life changing process.
